| How
To Become A Volunteer:
Rochester
Animal Services has an excellent volunteer program. We have
many active participants, but are always in need of more.
Our volunteers help to enhance quality of life for animals
at the shelter. They extend their time and hearts to the animals.
Volunteers may work anytime the shelter is open to the public.
Typical activities include dog walking, animal bathing, and
just socializing with the animals, all of which enrich the
animals' time at the shelter and ultimately improve their
likelihood of adoption. Some of our volunteers even assist
with off-site adoption programs. Other volunteers assist in
our clinic and spay-neuter unit. We are also looking
for volunteers to help update our website more frequently
and to assist in developing a rescue network and foster program
to re-home all of our adoptable animals. Check out the job
description
to learn more about getting involved. Requirements for
volunteering are:
- Completion of a Volunteer Application
- Attending a volunteer orientation
meeting
- Undergoing a background check
Please
contact us if you'd like to volunteer at the shelter, at a
special event, or at an off-site adoption location, or if
you are interested in becoming a foster home for adoptable
animals. Find out more about Animal Services in our
quarterly newsletter.
